The LMP DJs
Like-Minded People Presents... is a movement started by Adam K & Dillon Koenig. As the driving force behind the rapidly growing ‘Like-Minded People’ brand and as DJ's, producers, remixers and promoters in their own right, dillon and Adam are forging an imprint in dance music culture which is here to stay.
Since 2005, when ‘Like-Minded People’ was born, their club night ‘LMP Presents’ has travelled all over the U.K. and Europe. So what is Like-Minded People all about? Ultimately it "offers a party where pretensions are left at the door, a place to dance and have fun surrounded by Like-Minded People. All we want is a wicked crowd with an up for it, party mentality.
Here's the ‘how they came to be’ bit....
In 2001 Dillon left Lancaster University and moved between New York & London, DJ’ing wherever and whenever he could. On one of his stints in the UK, whilst working in Music PR he met Adam K. Adam has been a Radio Producer since 1998 working at Capital FM, BBC Radio 1 and most recently Kiss FM.
The passion for new music brought Adam and Dillon together, and it was their joint frustration with the unwritten rules of clubland that they soon developed a plan to run a night of their own. And so, Like-Minded People Presents was born!
So what is the LMP Sound? It's a cocktail of influences and sounds described in their own words as “tough, techy, jack-pumping house music”. Their sets always promote crowd participation (not least because of their infamous freebies) and you'll hear the same cocktail of bouncy superlatives in their productions and remixes.
Since its inception the LMP Presents experience has rocked dancefloors up and down the country including Ministry Of Sound, KissDaFunk, Pete Tong’s Wonderland, IF, Dusted, Electronic, Size, Release Yourself, Azuli, Tribal Sessions, Twisted Disco, Judgement Sundays, Toolroom Knights, Inside Out Glasgow, Moondance London, Pacha and the legendary Serious at what was The Cross.
No strangers to production, Dillon and Adam have been involved in a number of projects, dillon as himself and Adam as his alter ego’s Elektrus & Ctrl-Alt-Dlte. Most recently, ‘Chinese Whispers’ from Elektrus was featured on Ministry of Sound's Underground Ibiza 08 compilation and entered Beatports Top 100 Chart!
Together as the LMP DJ’s great things are happening! Their first remix under the LMP DJ's banner (commissioned by Micky Slim's Bomb Squad label) was of “The Beat Goes Boom” by Alex Schmitz. The response was massive including props from the likes of Trevor Loveys and Judge Jules.
The boys are busy in the studio working on their own productions but always make time to squeeze in a cheeky remix....
